Servicing & Breakdown Repair
Our Servicing Commitment to you
When you become an OSSW Ltd. customer, we will contact you on a 6-monthly or 12-monthly basis (depending on your machine) in order to arrange a mutually convenient time for a servicing appointment. We will give you a courtesy call a few weeks before any service is due. We do not have formal servicing contracts with our customers. We believe in old-fashioned loyalty - both ways.
If you have a breakdown problem, although we are not able to operate a 24-hour call-out service, we do endeavour to attend to your problem the same day (weekdays) and the first working day following a weekend. With our comprehensive boiler spares carried on our vans and in our central store, we fix 95% of breakdowns with one visit. We always provide you with a comprehensive Breakdown Report to outline faults and for you to keep for your records. Our routine boiler service includes a basic tank inspection. Should you have an oil leak, we have temporary tanks for an emergency pump-out.

Supply and Installation of Boilers and Oil Tanks
Keeping your property safe, regulated and to your satisfaction
We supply oil boilers and tanks and the relevant heating components for the installation of any oil-fired appliance or the installation of an oil storage facility (tank). All works need to be notified to and approved by your Local Authority, unless carried out by an installer who is registered with a Competent Persons Scheme. Without this certification of compliance, the work will not be legal and you could be liable for a fine of up to £5000. You may also have difficulties selling your home without certification of compliance.
Being an OFTEC Registered company, we take care of all of the certification so all our installations are certified to conform to current building regulation and standards. We offer a free surveying service so we can discuss your installation needs from major projects to the more minor.
We install oil-fired boilers, cookers and oil-tanks and with our flare for engineering design we often exceed expectations with our installation projects.
If your boiler stops working, the burner may have gone into Lock Out. It may be in ‘high-limit’ or low pressure.
We have outlined a few things you can do to potentially resolve this problem.

If you think that your oil tank may have a leak, please contact OSSW Ltd. immediately on 01837 871 444. It is important that any oil leak is dealt with as quickly as possible. We always have temporary storage tanks available which can be put on site for an emergency pump-out; transferring fuel from any leaking tank to the temporary tank so we can minimise the loss of oil and potential problems which can result.

Although the general working operations of your boiler will be explained to you by an engineer, here are some of the features which you may find useful to refer to. (Please Note: your boiler may vary slightly from these examples, but the principle is still the same).

One recent project was a large installation which we designed, engineered and commissioned. It was a rebuild of a large, grand old farmhouse where we installed a multi-zone heating system, twin domestic hot water systems, bathrooms, utilities, woodburner, water pre-treatment plant, topped off with a reconditioned, re-enamelled, dual-fuel Aga.
